4. Is there a tool available to automatically distribute application execution among several cores, or all application execution should be distributed manually by the designer?

There are sample applications that use macros to place and instantiate programs on multiple nodes. For the most part this is done manually by programmers now but in the future when we have larger libraries of code we will offer tools that will provide place and route of library modules with formal verification that the dataflow is proper and will not deadlock. At the present time programmers do that sort of state-machine design and analysis as part of the code development and debug cycles.
